2006 Keiki Hula Competition DVD

Established by the Kalihi-Palama Cultural & Arts Society to honor Hawai‘i’s last reigning monarch, the Queen Lili‘uokalani Keiki Hula Competition has showcased the talent of keiki for over thirty years. Traveling from near and far, talented keiki participate in perpetuating a cultural art form known as hula. With each movement, chant, and song, an important historical practice is kept alive. Keiki celebrate their love for hula through graceful, contemporary ‘auana and passionate, traditional kahiko. With open arms these keiki embrace the past and sway into the future with aloha in their hearts. DVD is coded for all regions.
